Newcastle United have completed the signing of Czech Republic international defender David Rozehnal from Paris St Germain for a fee of £2.9m.
The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract at St James' Park after agreeing terms with boss Sam Allardyce.
Rozehnal becomes Newcastle's third signing of the summer, after midfielder Joey Barton and striker Mark Viduka.
Rozehnal, who has won 34 caps for the Czechs, could cost another £200,000 depending on appearances.

Rozehnal began his career in his home country with Sigma Olomouc and twice won the Belgian title with Bruges before his move to PSG in 2005.
Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is keen to bring in central defenders after releasing Titus Bramble, Craig Moore, Oguchi Onyewu as well as left-back Olivier Bernard.
The Magpies boss also revealed on Thursday he was hopeful of signing Cameroon midfielder Geremi from Chelsea.

Former Deportivo la Coruna star Albert Luque has been told he is not wanted at the club.

Allegedly his father (who is also Luque's agent) has stated that Sam Allardyce doesn't see Luque at the club following his recent shake-up of the first team squad.

With Michael Owens' future still hanging in the balance - it looks like the Spanish striker/Left winger is also on the cards for a move 0 although the loan spell at PSV fel through due to his high wage demands.

Allardyce meanwhile continues to show an interst in PSG defender David Rozhenal, Forner Bolton team member Tal Ben Haim, Reading left back Nicky Shorey and Wigan left back Leighton Baines.

Also the Joey Barton deal is still awaiting a decision seeing as Manchester City are still haggling over the contract issues facing the release of Barton from his City contract, whilst West Ham are also looking to step in and upset the apple cart. It remains to be seen if the deal will go through.

There are others that are being mooted as moving to Newcastle too - the biggest name is Fernando Torres from Athletico Madrid - but with Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham all ready to offer £15m for his services a bidding war looks likely.
